UNIQUELY QUALIFIED/EXPERIENCED.

Terrye has observed first-hand our towns turn into cities, as well as the transformation of our cities into a major extension of the Metroplex. Collin County’s high growth rate poses major challenges for its office-holders in terms of office-practices, policies and budgeting. The burgeoning growth rate is taxing on the legal system as well as our citizens.

Terrye believes we need to maintain a citizen’s perspective while we make the hard budgetary and policy decisions within the department. Terrye’s sign in her office reads: “Welcome, we’re glad to see you!” Terrye will run the District Clerk’s office with this same mantra!

‘GOOD ENOUGH’ JUST ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH.

Terrye believes that one never stops learning in life and as soon as one stops wanting to learn it can often lead to loss of interest and then failure altogether. Terrye is committed to remaining vigilant and will commit her office to new technologies that will aid in everyday office practices. Basically working smarter so as to deliver the best work-product possible to Collin County’s citizens, lawyers, judges and other county departments.

Terrye believes that we as taxpayers cannot afford to take the attitude that things are "good enough". The District Clerk's office should be in a continual state of improvement, working smarter to make customer and citizen interactions positive and helpful, rather than perplexing and puzzling. The District Clerk staff should respect taxpayer time, and be sensitive to the needs of all stakeholders, attorneys, judges, and other departments. Terrye believes the District Clerk’s office is there to accommodate and serve the public, not the other way around.

MOTIVATED.

Terrye knows that the existing employees in the District Clerk’s office are armed with the knowledge and readiness to serve! What they need is a leader to make the necessary changes that this county desperately needs: Funds to aid programs involving the Indigent; internal changes to better interface with the District Attorney’s office and other departments; eradicate delays in filing with full use of office hours through a clerk hot-line to aid attorneys.
